Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Easy LLC (“Tailr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use Tailr (the “Service”), including tailr.so, our web application, browser extension, and our Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration that lets AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT connect to your account.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. You can create an account with a password, a magic link, or by signing in with Google or LinkedIn. If you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider.

Career and profile information. To provide the Service, we collect the information you give us about your career, including your résumé and any documents you upload, your LinkedIn profile URL and professional summary, target roles and salary expectations, employment status, work authorization and security clearance status, relocation preferences, and the skills, tools, certifications, education, and work experience you add or that we extract from imported documents.

Contacts and network data. If you connect your email inbox or import your LinkedIn network, we collect information about the contacts in that network, including names, email addresses, companies, and message content, so we can help you track your job search and outreach.

Communications. If you connect your email or calendar so we can track applications and interviews, we access the content of relevant emails, calendar events, and contacts in that connected account. When you connect a Google Account, this includes your Gmail messages and settings (Gmail API), Google Calendar events (Google Calendar API), and Google Contacts (People API), and occurs only after you explicitly grant that access on Google’s OAuth consent screen. If you contact our support team, we collect the content of that conversation along with your name, email, and account details.

Tailr Connect uses Tailr authentication cookies only to act in your signed-in Tailr workspace. It may read supported job pages and form labels when you ask it to save a job or prepare an application. Tailr Connect does not access or transmit LinkedIn session cookies, contacts, profiles, or messages, and it never submits job applications for you.

Payment information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment card details directly. We do not receive or store your card number. We do receive your name, email, and subscription and billing status from Stripe.

Usage and device information. We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, browser type, device information, and IP address.

Information from collaborators. If you invite someone into a shared workspace, or if someone invites you, information about your job search that is relevant to that workspace becomes visible to other members of that workspace, based on the role they’re given. Your account email address is never shared with other workspace members.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating tailored résumés and cover letters, matching you to relevant jobs, preparing job-application fields and user-requested document uploads, syncing LinkedIn information you choose to connect, and tracking your job-search pipeline. We also use it to process payments and manage your subscription; communicate with you about your account, respond to support requests, and send service-related and, where you’ve agreed, marketing emails; improve and develop the Service, including through product analytics; detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Use AI to Provide the Service

Tailr uses third-party artificial intelligence models to power features like résumé tailoring, cover letter generation, job matching, and our AI assistant. Depending on the feature, this may involve sending relevant content, such as your résumé text, profile information, and the job description you’re applying to, to one or more of the following AI providers: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity. These providers process this information to generate a response for you; we do not permit them to use your content to train their models.

We do not fabricate experience, credentials, or accomplishments you have not provided. AI-generated résumé and cover letter content is based only on information in your profile and the job you’re applying to. You should always review AI-generated content before using it, since AI can make mistakes.

Connecting Tailr to Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI assistants (MCP). Tailr offers an integration, built on the Model Context Protocol, that lets you connect your Tailr account to third-party AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. This connection is entirely opt-in: it only exists if you explicitly authorize it through an OAuth consent screen, and you can disconnect it at any time. Once connected, the assistant you authorized can read and, if you approve the specific action, write to your job pipeline, contacts, résumés, and profile, exactly as if you were using Tailr directly. We are not responsible for how the third-party AI assistant itself handles data once it has received it.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with the following categories of third-party service providers, each of which processes a limited set of information necessary for their function: Supabase handles authentication and hosts our primary database, so it holds all of your account and profile data. Stripe processes payments and billing; it receives your name, email, and subscription status. Intercom powers our customer support chat and receives your name, email, account ID, and the content of support conversations. PostHog provides product analytics and receives usage events along with your name, email, and account ID. Google Analytics provides website analytics and receives general usage and traffic data. Partnero tracks referrals and affiliate relationships and receives your name, email, account ID, and referral relationships.

Nylas powers calendar and email sync for application tracking and expert scheduling. For accounts connected via Google, Nylas accesses Gmail messages, Google Calendar events, and Google Contacts on our behalf using the Gmail API, Google Calendar API, and Google People API, and passes that connected mailbox, calendar, and contact content to Tailr. Tailr’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Unipile manages certain LinkedIn and other social account connections where enabled and receives messages, connections, and profile data from those connected accounts. Tailr Connect is separate: it uses your active LinkedIn browser session in Chrome to retrieve the LinkedIn data you choose to sync to Tailr. Loops and Resend deliver transactional and marketing email and receive your email address, name, and message content. Vercel provides hosting and infrastructure. Airtable manages our expert directory and receives the name, email, bio, and public professional details of experts listed on Tailr. 100ms powers live video sessions with experts and receives your name, role, and audio and video stream during a live session. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity, and, where enabled for a requested document, useResume power our AI features as described in Section 3 above.

We require our service providers to use the information we share with them only to provide services to us and consistent with this Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If your subscription is cancelled, we retain your data so you can continue to access your job-search history if you return; we do not currently delete or anonymize data automatically upon cancellation.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may access and update most of your profile and career information directly within the Service.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, or a copy of your data, contact us at support@tailr.so. We process these requests manually and will respond to and complete deletion or export requests within 30 business days. Deleting your account will remove your profile, résumé, and job-search data from our systems, except where we are required to retain records, such as billing records, for legal or accounting purposes.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Tailr and the third-party providers listed above are based in, or process data in, the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice where required by law.
