Overview
Google for Jobs is the jobs unit inside Google Search: the block of vacancies Google assembles when someone searches for work. A role becomes eligible through JobPosting structured data on the page hosting the ad, and every job published through Tailr carries that markup automatically.
Google for Jobs vs Google Ads
These are often confused. Google Ads is a separate paid product with its own account and bidding. Google for Jobs is the organic jobs experience inside Search. There is nothing to fund and no bid to place here.
Who it suits
Best for ordinary, well-titled vacancies that candidates search for by name, especially skilled trades, hospitality and customer support roles. It does nothing for a role where the right person is not actively looking, so pair it with a paid board rather than relying on it alone.
Prices
There is nothing to buy. Google for Jobs has no paid product and no targeting to purchase. Every job posted through Tailr carries the structured data that makes it eligible for the unit, at no extra cost.
What no budget changes
There is no placement to buy and no bid to place. Structured data makes a role eligible for the unit, it does not guarantee a place in it, and Google does not explain why one listing outranks another.
Requirements
Eligibility depends entirely on structured data attached to the job page: title, a complete description, the hiring organisation, the date posted, and either a location or an explicit remote scope.
Pre-publication checklist
One advert per vacancy. No bundling multiple openings into a single post. Filled or withdrawn roles have to be taken down or marked expired, since leaving them live risks a manual penalty. The title should read like a business card, with no locations, keywords or slogans bolted on. Applying has to be straightforward, without extra sign-ups or off-site steps. Candidates may never be asked to pay a fee at any point.
Post a Job
There is no separate posting flow for Google for Jobs. Write the vacancy once in Tailr and publish it. Every ad carries the structured data Google reads, so the role is eligible the moment it goes live, with nothing to switch on and no invoice to approve.
