Overview
Indeed gives employers a worldwide organic route plus paid placements for vacancies that need more visibility. Start organic, then sponsor only when a busy result set is holding the advert back.
Who Indeed works for
Best for broad active-candidate reach on clearly named roles in almost any market. Less suitable when the title, offer or salary is unclear, since paid visibility won't fix that. Pair with a professional network when the shortlist depends on passive specialists.
How it fits your channel mix
Run Indeed organically from the start, then add paid placement only where qualified applications remain thin. Add Stepstone or Google for Jobs alongside it for broader European or search-driven reach.
Prices
Indeed can be posted for free through the organic listing. Tailr's wholesale packages add fixed-duration paid placement, priced as a 20% markup over Tailr's base distribution cost.
Tailr wholesale pricing (USD)
Package | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|
Small: standard roles, moderate competition | 30 days | $601 |
Medium: stronger candidate competition | 30 days | $769 |
Large: hard-to-fill or highly competitive roles | 60 days | $979 |
Prices exclude tax. For comparison, Indeed's own direct self-serve rate runs on cost-per-click, typically $0.10–$5.00+ per click against a $5–$499 daily budget.
Organic
Free and included by default. Up to three jobs a month through Tailr, each live for 30 days. Right starting point for a clear title; eligibility still depends on Indeed's quality rules.
Paid
Booked through Tailr for worldwide placement. Useful when a compliant organic advert isn't getting enough qualified attention. It won't fix weak content or the wrong audience.
Requirements
Indeed expects one genuine vacancy per advert, an accurate title and location, stated pay, a usable application route, and no discriminatory criteria or candidate fees. Check these before distribution, since added visibility can't fix an advert that fails the board's rules.
Pre-publication checklist
One advert per vacancy. No bundling multiple openings or running an open call. Pay stated as a real hourly or salaried figure, not just "competitive." No candidate fees, ever. Primary location visible in the advert, plus any travel or relocation expectations. Title reads like a business card, with no keywords or slogans bolted on. A straightforward application route, without extra sign-ups or off-site steps. Poster must be authorised by the hiring company, able to answer for the role, and must disclose if an agency is behind it. No re-posting the same role to look fresh. No screening on protected characteristics: age, gender and gender identity, religion, ethnicity, race, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, plus whatever local employment law adds on top.
Common rejection reasons and fixes
Reason | Fix |
|---|---|
Promotional language, locations or keyword stuffing in the title | Use the role's recognised name; move location and selling points to their proper fields |
Advert combines several roles or reappears as a duplicate | One advert per active vacancy. Update the original instead of reposting |
Pay, location or application route missing or misleading | Add accurate terms, the primary work location and a complete application route |
Post a Job
Post directly through Indeed's own employer flow, or select Indeed while publishing a vacancy in Tailr. The Tailr route keeps the advert and its applications in your shared hiring pipeline.
Publishing directly on Indeed
Check the employer dashboard first, since Indeed may have already imported the vacancy from a careers site or ATS. For a new post: sign in, confirm no existing listing, then enter the title, company, location and work type. Add pay, schedule and benefits in real terms, write the full description, add any screening questions, then review and submit for Indeed's review.
Publishing through Tailr
Write the vacancy once in Tailr and publish it. Indeed's organic distribution goes out by default as part of your Tailr subscription, and applications land back in your Tailr pipeline alongside every other channel.
